Family with adopted dog-HSC lobby“In 2013, HSC placed 2,715 homeless dogs and cats into new, loving homes. Our team works hard to find the right fit for each pet and person.”

Gemini cat“Thanks to generous donors, HSC often runs fee-waived adoption specials for adult cats, who often have a harder time of getting adopted due to the problem of cat over-population in our community.”

Critter Care “Every Wednesday, HSC offers low cost vaccines, microchips, and other prevention services to the public at our Critter Care Clinic, helping owners with limited incomes provide care for their pets and keeping them in their homes.”

spay neuter“In 2013, HSC spayed and neutered over 11,000 pets at little to no cost to pet owners across the community, preventing hundreds of thousands of unwanted births and therefore more pets from ever entering the shelter system.”

From kittens and puppies that are just a few days old, to older or medically fragile animals in need of extra TLC, our foster parents provided care to 2,168 animals in 2013. Generous donors help us to provide all the food, supplies and medical care the foster homes will need, so that they can focus on giving their time, attention and love to these special needs pets.”
