FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Will there be a gear check?
    • Gear check will be provided unless otherwise noted.
  • What are the directions to the site?
    • Please see your event page.
  • What is the water temperature?
  • Do I have to wear the race cap?
    • Yes, you must wear the race cap. If for some reason, you remove the race cap, you may continue in the race, as long as you continue to show forward progress. If you would like to wear your own cap, you must wear your race cap color. Please email us to know what color your race will be.
  • Are fins, snorkel, and/or wet suit allowed?
    • Yes, they are all allowed, but not required. This will put you in a equipment category and disqualify you from awards.
  • Will there be food provided?
    • Fruit and water will be provided at the start/finish area for all participants.
  • Can non-participants attend? Is there a fee?
    • Yes, they can attend. There is no fee to watch the racing.
  • Will apparel be sold?
    • Yes, apparel will be sold on race day (towels, caps, tee shirts) while supplies last. These will also be available online when you register. If you have already registered and not purchased, please email us if you would like apparel. Purchase online to ensure your product at race day.
  • What type of safety is used?
    • We work with ocean rescue to provide superior safety based on their recommendations.
  • What happens if the event if postponed or cancelled?
    • Safety is our number one priority at all races. Should a situation arise where the event must be postponed or cancelled we will consider all options that will allow you the opportunity to race. Should safety be compromised, we will offer the appropriate remedies to allow you to participate with us in future events. Should a situation arise we will post updates on a daily basis leading up to the event on the website.
  • Is the event sanctioned?
    • The event is fully sanctioned through WOWSA
  • Who does the event support?
    • All events support the H2O’s Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to eradicating drowning in South Florida.
